I particularly like Taylor’s last resolution.
Christmas this year was so nice. It’s actually the first year Taylor and I have woken up in the same house on Christmas day. Taylor and I spent the night at our own house and we had a quiet morning together before heading over to cook and bake all day with my family.
We went a little over budget this year. I can’t help it, I love buying/giving gifts. I put a Vitamix, a few Le Crueset pieces in “French Grey”, a few cookbooks and an Apple TV under our tree for him. He got me an incredibly warm Patagonia jacket, some really rad Red Wing boots and a Chemex coffee maker!
We’re looking forward to 2016. We’ve just finished our resolutions, which I’ll be posting here soon.
If you follow us on Instagram, you might already know that we adopted a puppy three weeks ago. She is a golden doodle, and her name is Penelope Faye (aka Penny). Taylor and I have been wanting a pup for a while now, and we’ve been saving and doing research on different breeders within the Greater Nashville area. It was a long process, but completely worth it.
Training Penny has been a lot of work, but incredibly rewarding at the same time. She has taught us patience and has forced us to wake up earlier, something we’ve been wanting to get in the habit of doing for a while now.

We celebrated Taylor’s 23rd birthday at Le Sel back in November. The food, atmosphere and experience was wonderful, and I’ve gone back several times for lunch and dinner. Le Sel serves modern French cuisine with menu items like steak and frites, french onion soup and ratatouille. The interior aesthetic is incredibly hip and beautifully put together. Our friend, Ben Vandiver, was hired to design the space, and it’s so cool to see his work while eating an incredible meal.
Also, it should be noted that I’m secretly hoping to run into Taylor Swift while eating there. The restaurant is located on the first floor of The Adelicia in Nashville, the same building where Swift’s penthouse condo is.
