When I was in third grade, my mom bought me a pair of green Dr. Martens that I obsessively wore everyday until my feet couldn’t fit into them. I’ll never forget how buttery soft the leather became and how cool they looked over time. They were my favorite boots. For this reason, I tend to splurge on footwear more often than not. I love any excuse for new shoes.
I’ve compiled a list of my favorite shoes for fall I’m pining over. Hoping to score a few of these beauties to carry me through the holidays, comfort food, and pumpkin spice bliss for as long as possible.
DETAILS: Red Wing, Dr. Martens, Rag & Bone, Clarks, Cole Haan, Ami, PF Flyers, Nike
Taylor and I didn’t have the luxury of having a date night in when we first started seeing each other. I was renting a room the size of a closet and he lived with his parents. Much of our initial time spent together was out and about. We frequented coffee shops, saw movies, tried new restaurants, went to the park, and participated in similar hobbies. This was incredible, and such a fun way to get to know him, but it was also really expensive. One of my favorite bloggers, Bleubird, puts together mood boards of different date night activities for she and her husband. I think it’s a great idea and pulled some inspiration from her when putting together what Taylor and I’s typical date night in looks like.
Now that I live in a house and have been able to carve out a more comfortable living situation, our lifestyle and relationship has changed. Instead of running around and always trying the hippest new eateries, we love to make things together. Taylor is very organized, there’s a structure to everything. I’m much more of a fly by the seat of my pants kind of guy. Our combined kitchen skills make for fun and interesting dishes.
Much of our date nights in is centered around a particular meal, but we’re just as happy with a cheese plate and bottle of wine, simple and romantic. We really love Dreaming Trees Wines (1) by Dave Matthews. We’ll cuddle up on the couch with athrow (2), in our favorite henley’s (3), sweat pants (5), and mocassin’s (9), light a candle (6) and either binge-watch one of our favorite TV shows on Netflix (4) or play a game of Scrabble (8). Lately, we’ve been eating way too much of the new Ben & Jerry’s core ice cream (7), it’s so good!
It’s insane to me that Pre-Fall is already on its way in. We still have a few weeks of warm weather, but this summer seems to have flown by so quickly! I’m ready for the colder seasons. Autumn and Winter are so much better for me in the wardrobe department. Here are my favorites thus far:

It’s my second Summer in Nashville and I’ve learned very quickly how to combat the heat. I always like to keep it simple this time of year and have been digging these items. This seems like the perfect outfit to browse the Farmer’s Market or for a day at the park with my Dude. I’m especially excited about the Birkenstocks because they remind me of my Dad – he has been wearing them for as long as I can remember and has no idea how on trend he is right now.
