Meet Penny

If you follow us on Instagram, you might already know that we adopted a puppy three weeks ago. She is a golden doodle, and her name is Penelope Faye (aka Penny). Taylor and I have been wanting a pup for a while now, and we’ve been saving and doing research on different breeders within the Greater Nashville area. It was a long process, but completely worth it.

Training Penny has been a lot of work, but incredibly rewarding at the same time. She has taught us patience and has forced us to wake up earlier, something we’ve been wanting to get in the habit of doing for a while now.

We’re pretty excited to celebrate this Christmas as a family of three. If you have any interest in breeder contact information, feel free to send us a message! We’re happy to point you in the right direction.

Le Sel, The New Nashville Restaurant

We celebrated Taylor’s 23rd birthday at Le Sel back in November. The food, atmosphere and experience was wonderful, and I’ve gone back several times for lunch and dinner. Le Sel serves modern French cuisine with menu items like steak and frites, french onion soup and ratatouille. The interior aesthetic is incredibly hip and beautifully put together. Our friend, Ben Vandiver, was hired to design the space, and it’s so cool to see his work while eating an incredible meal.

Also, it should be noted that I’m secretly hoping to run into Taylor Swift while eating there. The restaurant is located on the first floor of The Adelicia in Nashville, the same building where Swift’s penthouse condo is.

Thanksgiving in California

Taylor and I both grew up in California, but met in Tennessee. It is so nice to go home for the holidays and be able to visit both our families. This trip was extraordinarily special because Taylor’s dad and step-mom had a newborn last month. He is adorable. Seriously – the sweetest baby. I love that he has red hair, and looks so much like Taylor when he was a baby.

I didn’t take my camera everywhere, because the trip was nonstop and we had so many people to see/stuff to do. We had a total of 3 Thanksgiving meals while we were there! We had a chance to carve out a day for a Disneyland trip, something Taylor and I have been wanting to do together for a long time.

IN-N-OUT burger happened several times and we did some Christmas shopping at South Coast Plaza (my favorite place in the entire world). I did manage to get snag some photos on a trip to the beach. Taylor’s parents live right on the sand, so we’d walk along the ocean and drink our coffee every morning. I love the last photo, it’s going to be used for the Christmas card!
